#manicurethursday 24 carat Gold #christmas countdown #22

On my countdown to Christmas I'm getting festive and sparkly with my nail colours... today I've opted for OPI Fiji Weejee Fawn as a neutral pearlised base, and then added sparkle in the form of Deborah Lippmann's Boom Boom Pow... I LOVE this Gold Sparkle nail colour! It includes different sizes of Gold shimmer and glitter but it's far from tacky... Instead, it gives a luxe extravagant lacquered glaze and it houses actual 24 carat Gold!!! Yes, it really is that luxe... I've finished with my Seche Clear Crystal Top Coat for intense shine.

Decleor's Christmas Pomander!!!

Eeek ! Christmas is here!!! Okay so I know I've been away for quite some time now and I find myself blogging less in this busy period but the little Christmas Stocking I recieved from Decleor is just what I needed to remind me it's CHRISTMAS!!!
This isn't any ordinary bauble btw... no no... this is a precious Gold gleaming bauble that houses Decleor's signature Madagascar scent and can be hung anywhere in the home/bedroom for decor too - or the christmas tree if you wish! It has a stunning cut-work Gold Leaf, is embossed with delicate Gold leaves and has two silky ribbons intwined with a glistening chain allowing it to be hung on wardrobes, door handles for a festive glimmer and beautiful long-lasting scent!
The Decleor Pomander is available to purchase online too at Decleor.co.uk and makes a fabulous little gift over Christmas and the New Year! Thank you Decleor and to the Beauty Seen PR girls! xx

Eleven Paris Celebrate Joy Division with all proceeds going to MDF...

A little while back I was invited to join Eleven Paris at Notting Hill boutique Village Bicycle to celebrate their T-shirt designed especially to pay tribute to Joy Division and their contribution to the music industry over the years... It was a great night and I thank Eleven Paris for inviting us down - guests included Cara Delevingne (Burberry girl otm!), Jade Jagger, Zara Martin, The Felder sisters and Tyrone Wood! Here's a taster of the T-shirt and goodies we all recieved...
The T-shirt is currently on sale at the Village Bicycle Boutique in Notting Hill, with all proceeds going to MDF, The Bipolar Organisation... so a great reason to buy darlings!

Style Crush: SJP & Alexa Chung... Tres Chic!*

I'm not a huge fan of Alexa Chung's style... but she has got it so right here! Dressed in a Burberry Military Jacket and Dress, Alexa mixed a quintessential British look with Metallic stacked wedges for a spin of current glamour and belted the outfit to add shape. Navy, Black and Gold... Tres Chic I say!!

Sarah Jessica Parker kept her full skirted gown by Olivier Theyskens for Theory simple - set against a chic updo, sparkling diamonds, and minimal accessories... The best way to work such a fabulous Gown!

Numero #129... Magique!

Greg Kadel has captured Karlie Kloss with fiery Red locks for the Dec/Jan 2011-12 cover of Numero #129... Styled by Elizabeth Sulcer, Karlie dons a deep Chocolate Brown ensemble with lashings of fur and a play of textures - I love the rich tones in the outfit and her hair that work brilliantly together!

Just when we think the excitement is over with Versace for H&M and we can all go back to the norm... H&M have just announced their next designer collaboration is with Italian brand : Marni! Eeeek!!! The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring“. Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor H&M

Rodial Life & Style!

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of cult celeb-favourite product, Glam Balm, Rodial invited industry insiders to a glam evening of cocktails at the W Hotel, London to celebrate the launch of their three brand new skincare must-haves! We got to meet the gorgeous founder Maria Hatzistefanis whilst exploring the new products on offer and we got a sneak peak at the new Life & Style Holiday 2011 gift range too!

First up were the three new skin must-haves that are set to be a sell-out. The fabulous Glam Balm is now available in three amazing extensions: Glam Balm Hand, Glam Balm Lip, and Glam Balm Multi. Each product does what the original Glam Balm does best, on that specific area. I tried the Glam Balm Hand which worked as a luxurious moisturiser that instantly left my hands feeling like velvet and worked to minimise the signs of ageing. I found it to be ultra-brightening to the skin on my hands and it left them looking and feeling really smooth! The Glam Balm Hand is £39.00 and available to buy now online.
The fabulous girls at Rodial gave me my very own Glam Balm Multi to take home and try which I've been trying out for the last two weeks on different occasions. Let me tell you... this is a wonder balm! It's actually taken over the famous 8-hour cream for me and it has about 100 different uses! The Glam Balm Multi is an intensive balm with 3D Hyaluronic filling spheres to instantly hydrate skin to give a smooth finish and fill fine lines and wrinkles, whilst Calendula, Shea Butter and Vitamin E soothe and restore moisture to promote elasticity. Once I've taken my make-up off and washed my face at night, I've been applying this as a concentrated moisturiser before going to sleep and it's worked as a lip balm, eye cream and moisturiser all-in-one! I've woken up to find my skin looking moisturised, plump, smooth and fresh and when I've had a day off to myself to relax at home, I'll apply it as an instant super-boost. Not only does it work wonders on the face, under-eyes, lips and hands, it's really fantastic on dry areas such as the elbows and knees and is a brilliant glossy sheen for the legs and arms!
I didn't manage to try the Glam Lips but I will certainly keep you posted - it's sure to be a massive sell-out and has recently launched priced at £19.00. What's great about these products is that it really does feel like you're applying a luxury product and the packaging is a luxe treat for your handbag too!
The new Holiday 2011 sets provide three unique bath-time experiences: LOUNGE, REHAB & SOCIALITE, which include gorgeous scented candles, body souffles and bathing balms. Each range includes three luxe products to leave you feeling fabulous...

Lounge: Infused with Honeycomb and Vanilla, to help you feel relaxed, calm and utterly pampered.
Rehab: Delicately scented with Honey Milk and Roasted Almond, these skincare saviours will help you to feel recharged and de-stressed after a busy day.
Socialite: Scented with Pink Champagne and Cassis for a truly energising experience that helps you to get party-ready the luxurious way!

I was kindly gifted the Rehab Body Souffle to take home and try and it's left me pleasantly surprised that's for sure! When I opened the box I instantly felt relaxed from the gorgeous scent - and over the last few days I've felt no need to apply any perfume as the first day I tried it, I had complements and questions about which parfum I was wearing on 4 different occasions - 3 of which were at work and one being a close friend!
Without sounding... silly... this body souffle makes me feel really good about myself and rather special. Not only is my skin left super soft all day, it leaves me with a rather indulgent dreamy feeling and is absorbed by the skin really quickly - with no heaviness or greasiness left on my limbs! The scent is just divine too - I cannot wait to try the Candle and Bathing Balm although I'm also wanting to try the Socialite and Lounge range too... it all sounds too good!!!

I don't usually want beauty/bathtime treats for Christmas but I might add a few of these to my Christmas wish-list... after all, they are the perfect size for stocking fillers...!

The Galliano Gazette...

So John Galliano has launched his first online store, with key pieces from the Galliano Autumn 11/12 RTW and Accessories collections for Men and Women and a complete range of Galliano favourites and signature pieces ready to purchase! My favourite piece is the Pied de Poule Printed Silk Chiffon Shirt that screams sophistication with a hint of Gaga... and I've just ordered it! What's better is that the site ships internationally... so Happy Galliano Shopping Darlings !! xx

We're nearing Christmas, but I'm a Beach Tomato...

Although I love late Winter as I get to wear my furs and embellished pieces to their full extent, I can't help but be excited (already) by Summer 2012! It's not just all the SS'12 Press Preview days I've recently attended, but more so a particular website 'Beach Tomato' that I've found somewhat of a visual Summer delight!
From the best Beaches in the World, to Swimwear Fashion, Summer Beauty and Holiday destinations... it's an online magazine dedicated to Beachside retreats and Summer (not just your average British Summer... I'm talking international exotic HEAT!) and it's got me hooked!

Numero #128 : Aline Weber fronts the November 2011 Cover

A striking and rather magical cover lensed by Camilla Akrans! Aline Weber lets her eyes do the talking on the cover of Numero #128 the November 2011 Issue. She's managed to capture a dangerous innocence that certainly lures the eyes in!

Karlie Kloss Covers Vogue Germany : Dec 2011

Luisa Cerano cuts a cool, style-forward look for AW'11...

As we're well under-way with AW11 fashion, there's one brand that's really caught my eye... Luisa Cerano's AW'11 Collection cuts a cool, style-forward, sophisticated look for the modern woman. I'm loving the versatile pieces that lend a directional edge to any wardrobe, and exude feminine elegance with on trend detailing!
In particular, the Aviator details and Military detailing are my favourite elements fused to form a new modern urban look. There's Dark Winter Navy and Flannel Grey combined with cool Blues and Pure Winter White with structured silhouettes trimmed with luxurious fur details - this is a German Luxury Fashion brand with an edge... and I love the campaign images with a pop of colour on the eyelids!

Printemps Presents Karl Lagerfeld for Christmas!

Parisian department store Printemps have showcased a fantastic window for Christmas designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself! And what a window... an Eiffel Tower, a twenty foot Tree... it's full of Parisian chic and mini Unkle Karls everywhere! There's Photographer Karl, Designer Karl, Creative Karl, and a Karl that likes to climb the Eiffel Tower by the looks of it... I lovelovelove!

Versace for H&M!

As the days roll by we're slowly approaching the big Versace for H&M drop and it's probably the first time that I can actually say I CANNOT wait to wake up at 4am and que up to get my hands on that studded dress and that leather jacket... eeek the excitement is killing me!
To add to the excitement, Donatella Versace and H&M celebrated the launch of Versace for H&M in New York in a specially designed building on the Hudson River, with a stunning catwalk and a host of stars including Jessica Alba, Chase Crawford, Uma Thurman and Selma Blair (with most dressed in, you guessed it, Versace for H&M). There were even a few iconic pieces created just for the exclusive runway show - with top models of course (well we are talking Versace Darlings), Abbey Lee Kershaw, Natasha Poly and Lindsey Wixson to name a few and performances by Prince and Nicki Minaj! Just take a look at the fashion show...
Aah I'm Excited!!!

The Olsen Twins Cover Vogue's Best Dressed...

Anyone that reads this often will know a I'm a huge fan of the Olsen Twins. For me these young ladies are the epitome of style and here they prove just how stylish they are - covering US Vogue's Best Dressed list. A beautiful and intriguing shot of Mary-Kate and Ashley.

10 Years Younger In 40 Seconds...

I was recently invited to experience the magic and inveiling of a new anti-ageing phenomenon at London's exclusive venue/club The Box. With aerial performances, psychic tarot readings, good company and a lot of champagne, this really was a night to remember!
As the evening progressed, Nanoblur was unveiled : A new cosmetic product from Indeed Labs, which visibly transforms skin in seconds by giving an airbrushed effect that blurs crows feet, lines and enlarged pores. The big news was that compared to premium anti-ageing serums which can take up to 60 days to show an effect, Nanoblur significantly improves the skin's surface area immediately - the girls took the 40 second challenge, and right there before my eyes... it worked - skin was given a smoother appearance and seemed much more flawless!
What I liked about it is that it's perfect for on the go, as the tube isn't too big so it can be slipped into your handbag or desk drawer and applied over foundation to give an instant airbrushed effect at any time of the day. The water based formula fits into any daily skin care routine and should be applied on top of liquid makeup, or underneath powder makeup and it's rather versatile too... those with drier skin types can also blend nanoblur with their favourite moisturiser.
Originally formulated to tackle concerns created by HD cameras that would highlight the slightest of skin imperfections on Hollywood celebrities, Nanoblur uses the most advanced form of optical prism technology to literally "blur" any lines and flaws on the skin. It combines millions of micro-prisms to create the appearance of pore-less skin, while reducing wrinkles, textural damage, and unwanted pigmentation, and it can be applied to hands, the neck, or any other part of your body.

After seeing what it really does, and the immediate effects, I was expecting a price somewhere in the £90+ mark... nope... Nanoblur is only £19.99! I literally gasped (along with many of the other girls) when I heard this. And it's not difficult to get hold of either as it's available in all Boots stores nationwide. I've found Nanoblur to give a velvety finish and am also using it regularly on my hands too...!

Mise en Dior ... follow the Dior Pearl on it's pin-ball journey...

To the rhythm of an original (and pretty awesome) electro-remix of Mozart, we follow each twist and turn of the Dior Pearl right to the finish... the Mise en Dior Necklace! Wouldn't we all love to have a pin-ball machine that creates such a masterpiece?! Exhilarated by its adventure in this fascinating Dior universe, the Pearl dialogues spontaneously with each of the Luxury fashion house's icon : The Bar jacket, Lady Dior, J'Adore, the Star, Dior Addict... Chain reactions, heady excitement, futuristic neon and pure poetry in an ode to tradition... That is how the necklace is made...

Vogue & Harper's Bazaar make it a Sexy & Glamorous November!

We've certainly been treated this month! Just take a look at the three covers below that Vogue and Harper's Bazaar have pulled out of the fashion bag for November...
Officially my girl/celebrity crush. Vogue Germany treat us to two super sexy covers fronted by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looking bombshell ready with glossed bouncy hair, smouldering eyes and plenty of sparkling Diamonds! Photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, this cover could knock 007 off his feet... ermmm ***lightbulb*** perhaps our British Beauty should be in the next Bond...?!
 VOGUE GERMANY NOVEMBER 2011
Vogue Paris show us how the classic yet glamorous Red lips are done with a cheeky Parisiene twist in the form of a Bow-tie! Arizona Muse is photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the November 2011 Issue of Vogue Paris!
A glowing Beyonce throws some moves for the November Issue of Harper's Bazaar US - showing no signs of slowing down whilst she's expecting her first child! Terry Richardson captures energetic moves whilst Bey does her thing in Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012... I'm loving the Metallic Fringe Jacket!

Vera Wang Showcases Black Wedding Dresses at Bridal Fashion Week

Eeek! It seems White Wedding Dresses have been kicked aside by Designers and Black is the new White in the Bridal scene! Last week saw Vera Wang present her new 'Black' Bridal Collection at Bridal Fashion Week, with not a White Dress in sight! Instead we saw an array of Black Wedding Gowns with Nude/Grey Tulle trimmings and underskirts ...well, we are approaching Halloween folks so maybe Vera is a little consumed by all the scarily fun festivities! I must say, although I'm not taken to the idea of wearing Black down the aisle, it's a bloody fabulous idea for a dress change for the latter part of the evening don't you think...?! I think it could actually really hit off quite well... and my favourite design is this divine fishtail Gown pictured above. Wouldn't it look fab for a Wedding Reception...?

J-Lo visits her hometown, the Bronx... in her Fiat 500

You may remember recently I featured the Fiat by Gucci 500 - I mentioned how I'd come to like the car and wouldn't mind actually driving one around town. Not just because it was a Fiat by Gucci 500 mind... I would love to own a Fiat 500 (sans Gucci detailing and finesse!) as I think it's a pretty cool car, and the latest Fiat advertisement in the US makes me want one even more! It's a pleasant journey featuring Jennifer Lopez making her way back to the Bronx - her hometown. The brand say 'My World tells the story of how the simple elements of our upbringing help define who we are and where we're going. They serve as a source of inspiration to achieve our goals in life. That drive and determination is the common thread that is shared with the FIAT brand. - Life is Best When Driven.' A pretty nice way to look at it don't you think?

Recreate Gucci AW'11 High-Octane Seventies Glamour!

One of my favourite collections for Autumn Winter '11 was the Gucci high-octane Seventies Collection! Full of glamour, lashed with exotic skins and the vibrancy of jewel colours...! Now that doesn't sound like something we can get away with everyday does it?! But fashion is about pushing the boundries, stepping outside of your comfort zone and having fun! If you really feel that you want rock this trend, without looking overdone, then you can always inject a dose of Seventies glamour into your everyday style with one or two pieces. I personally dress everyday according to my mood, which is a lot of fun because sometimes it feels like you're getting 'into character' which in turn can actually be a massive positive for your confidence! There can be days when I'll want to go all-out with a particular trend; others when I fuse a number of trends together, and then theres days when I want to dress minimal, but I'll pick on the beauty look from a collection and have fun with that instead...
I've come across a lot of women lately who would look amazing if they were to wear the Seventies trend in the style of Gucci, but they just aren't sure where to start. So, I've picked out key pieces from the high-street and one or two high-end pieces too that should help you step out of your routine and try this trend. Trust me, you'll feel so glamorous you won't know whats hit you (and you'll recieve a lot of admiring glances from passers-by)!!

THE DRESS...
 GUCCI AW'11
Mango have done a superb Autumn Winter'11 Collection this season - with two killer Chiffon Gowns that can give you a similar glamorous look to the Gucci Gowns as above. Don't think that wearing a colourful floor-length dress is too much of a statement either... it's all about injecting this trend into YOUR style and wearing it YOUR way! Either gown by Mango looks amazing in the daytime (yes, daytime) layered over a fine plain Black roll-neck (or coloured if you dare!) and finished with a Black Leather Biker Jacket! Wear the look with Ankle-Boots and you will honestly feel like a million dollars!

THE FUR STOLE...
GUCCI AW'11
Topshop's Teal Fur Stole nails the trend in one! It's an easy addition to your wardrobe and works wonders when stylishly thrown over a Winter Coat (extra marks if your coat is in another Jewel tone such as Azure Blue, Purple, or even Mocha Brown!) or gracefully worn over a Pussybow Shirt/Dress. I personally think this Fur Stole looks fab when worn with a Chiffon Dress and a colourful Fedora paired with Dark lips as shown on the Gucci image above.. Yes, it's daring, but it looks fabulous! It's also an easy way to update an old coat as you can place it as a Fur Collar for Glam-factor and extra warmth!

THE SKIRT...
GUCCI AW'11
Okay, so this isn't the most glamorous piece - but it's going to work as one of the basics in this trend and one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. The Red Midi will be that key piece that will take you through Winter and still allow you to have fun with how you wear it. It's all down to the shoes... to work the Seventies look you'll want to pair this with some Knee-length Brown Leather Boots. Once you've put this together, you literally will only need either a Chiffon/Silk Shirt or a Coloured fine Roll-neck and you're done! Have more fun by wearing Knee-length Boots in a muted Teal or Plum shade, it will make it so much more interesting and give the look some depth. I always think it's important to play with textures and different shades - or another way to wear the look but add a real twist is to wear it with Shoe-Boots and team with a fur gilet!

THE PUSSY-BOW SHIRT...
GUCCI AW'11
This is probably the easiest piece to wear - just because it's been around for so long that most of us are comfortable wearing the pussy-bow shirt, whether it be for work with a pencil skirt, with jeans for a casual but polished look, or with a blazer for a smart finish. To inject some Seventies finesse into your look, wear this under either a coloured blazer in an Emerald Green, or under a Fur Gilet with Grey/Black/Blue tones. You'll also be working the Forties trend if you pair it with a pencil skirt (a Leather Pencil Skirt is a fabulous modern update) or go full on Seventies and wear this Warehouse Pussy-bow Blouse under a Violet fine-knit Cardi, and a Brick Red/Burgundy Midi Skirt!

THE COAT...
The investment piece. It will last you for years to come and is a nice step away from the classic Black coat. What makes it work is that allbeit vibrant in colour, the shape and cut are still classic and easy to wear. You'll be working plenty of other trends with this coat too : Minimalism for shape, and Colour-blocking when worn with another pop of Fuchsia, Plum or any shade really! It will also work a treat under that Fur Stole we were talking about...

THE NECKLACE...
Keeping all other Jewellery to a minimum, this Necklace will do the talking for you. It looks brilliant over a Silk Blouse/Dress or peeking through your Coat/Fur Stole! Love it!

THE BAG...
New season colour, roomy yet refined, and textured! This bag is everything you need rolled into one! And it's not so vibrant that you'll get fed up of it... instead, you'll find you won't be able to take your eyes off it! Nor will anyone else!

THE KNIT...
This is one of my favourite pieces in this edit! The Acne Silk Knit has a slit down the back that reveals a flash of sexy back - exactly what the Gucci Woman is... sexy and sophisticated and all about colour! It's a great piece to throw on with jeans or cigarette pants and the Yellow has a Mustard undertone that is screaming Super-Seventies!

THE HAT...
GUCCI AW'11
The best way to finish this trend is to nail the look with a Vibrant Fedora! Now theres sooo many versions across the high-street - you can get a whole range of coloured hats and fedoras with different trimmings in Topshop Oxford Circus, but for the ultimate high-octane finesse, Gucci is the go-to in luxury accessories!

THE MAKE-UP...
 GUCCI AW'11
You can rock the Seventies trend with ease and plenty of glamour with MAC's new Posh Paradise Collection - a collection of stunning Plum Purples, Mustards and Rich Reds... My favourite products from the collection are the Paint Pots and the Nail Lacquer. Wear the Paint Pot in Half Wild as a wash over eyelids blended with a Charcoal Shadow for a light smoky look - this looks stunning when paired with the Potent Fig Mattene Lipstick and a dash of clear gloss ! A lighter way to tap into the trend is just to have fun with Nail Colours... the Nail Lacquer in Immortal Gold is super luxe and adds a touch of Metallic glamour to the nails!
Let me know how you get on with this trend and what you do to make it your own...! xx
