#MFW FALL '11 : ROBERTO CAVALLI

Roberto Cavalli's Fall '11 Show was an explosion of past collections mixed with modern fabrics - heavily layered styling and wild animal prints, finished with glimmers of burnished gold and gilded coppers! This was the signature Roberto Cavalli style, with opulant finishing and luxe detailing... smouldering hot! Models were transformed to warrior like glamazons, with lashings of kohl, layers of fur and sequinned armour like embellishment. This is a seriously easy look to pull off come fall '11 as Cavalli gave us separates that we can work into our everyday look and mix up, as well as Velvet - on trend from last season. There were rich brocade jackets and blazers with exotic pants, and feather finishings along with silk chiffon dresses... by far one of my favourite collections from Roberto Cavalli... but then, I do tend to fall in love with collections that present a strong and powerful, yet sultry exotic woman... and this is just what Cavalli did Darlings...

Catherine Zeta-Jones is awarded a CBE from Prince Charles!

Congratulations to Catherine Zeta-Jones, on recieving a CBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, earlier this week! Catherine naturally looked her finest for this Royal occasion, wearing a sophisticated yet demure Stone Skirt-Suit with a gorgeous fancy hat...and of course a glamorous pair of Gold Louboutins. Doesn't she look beautiful...? Michael Douglas must be one proud husband....after all, they've been dubbed 'Hollywood Royalty' ...!

#MFW FALL '11 : VERSACE

Donatella Versace was truly celebrating Gianni at her Fall '11 show, held in the courtyard of her Milanese home... and playing Prince, just as Gianni once did. Tanned models strutted down the catwalk wearing pinafore dresses with Versace's Medusa head as large gold buttons and super amped up heels. Gianni's favourite flower, the Tulip, wrapped itself around asymmetric dresses in Azure Blues and Yellows, and flashes of Sea Green and Cyan! There was a luxe edge to the tailored coats and jackets with military undertones from all the Gold hardware, yet everything was very tidy - models had the signature poker straight hair with centre parting and polished tanned skin that gave a light yet glamorous look to it all. Midway through the show we saw Leather flare skirts and tightly belted jackets with large Gold buckles cinching in model's waists, and later in the show, a finale of Oscar worthy Gowns ready to glide down the Red-carpet this weekend! Wonder who will be wearing that stunning strapless White Gown with a trail of feathers...? The moneys on January Jones...

#manicureLFW ...abit of Henry Holland for Fashion Week...

Every now and then, I have moments when doing my nails - I'll want to apply a colour (that I don't have/run out of/made up...kind of) so bad, that I just mix a little eyeshadow with one of my cheaper nail polishes to get the same effect - basically I don't have patience, when I want something, I want it there and then! My #manicureLFW that I had over the past few days for London Fashion Week, needed a colour I didn't have... so I mixed some of my metallic MAC pigment with an old Rimmel nail polish in pure Metallic Silver...and voila! I had my colour : a light Metallic Green. I made sure my nails were clean and shaped, then painted a thick tip of this colour and let it dry. A little while later, I painted another tip, in NARS Pokerface (Deep Lilac), over the metallic green tip. You've got to have a steady hand to paint the tips with no mistakes or wobbly lines, and just over half the thickness of the first Metallic Green tip. Once dry... a topcoat does the job...seals the colour and gives it a nice glossy finish! I didn't realise just how much my #manicureLFW reflected London Fashion, until more than one PR girl at the Marios Schwab show pointed out my nails were all about House of Holland SS'11 and reminded them of the colours used in Henry's collection!
Hmm what do you think...? I <3 HOH...

#MFW FALL '11 : ALBERTA FERRETTI

Alberta Ferretti looked to the Sixties for her Fall '11 collection with chiffon dresses and printed tunics in bold bright jewel tones - finished with over the knee velvet boots, some even heavily embellished! Shimmery tailored coats were paired with sequinned shift dresses with paired down make-up and tidy side-swept hair. To finish this glimmering collection, came about a finale of shimmering embellished Gowns in beautiful Pale Pinks and Silvery Greys - a particular favourite of mine is the Black Flamenco-esque Gown that Anja Rubik closed the show in, finished with stunning fine lace and a beautiful high-neck!

Style Crush : #LFW/#MFW : Katie Holmes : Lily Donaldson

Katie Holmes looked smart & sophisticated this morning for the first day of Milan Fashion Week! Katie opted for a one shoulder Chocolate jumpsuit with Black pointy pumps and a flash of Red on her nails. I love how effortless yet sexy this look is - perfect for the Maxmara show!
Back here in London, super Lily Donaldson went for a sexy cut-out bodycon dress with tousled hair and ankle boots in true Brit-style for Another Magazine's 10th birthday!

#MFW FALL '11 : GUCCI

Wow... Frida Giannini sure knows how to dress a woman. The Gucci Fall '11 Runway Show was an opulent fusion of the Seventies and Forties, creating a glamorous and luxurious collection, yet with a polished finesse that exudes the style of sharp Italian women! Whilst the colour palette was a fun and varied jewel selection, everything from Teal, Violet, Maroon and Mustard Yellow, to Fuchsia, Red, Charcoal and Olive; the fur and leather bought about a classic elegance - exotic skins added depth and created a fascinating ultra-expensive finish to each look! Model's lips and nails were given a varnish gloss in deep Berry and Plum tones and hair stepped through from the SS'11 show...still super slick with far side partings. The bold square sunglasses and fedora style floppy hats finished each look perfectly - as did the vertiginous luxe python skin strappy sandals in a selection of colours to complement the collection. Polka-dot dresses with pussy-bow neck shirts brought the 40's to my attention, but were kept sexy and modern using sheer fabrics to create fluidity and femininity. The show was closed with a plethora of sheer gowns that had beautiful petal-work to create fine corsages that screamed hours of fine craftsmanship! I've been waiting for 'the one' to come and sweep me right off my feet... Gucci did just that.
