Halloween Treats : Crispy Marshmallow Bars, Caramel Apple & Wicked Witch Biscuits!

A number of my friends have come to the conclusion that this year for Halloween I'll be styled up as Beyonce and one of my other friends will be Lady Gaga from Bey' and Gaga's collab, Telephone!! Eeek! I'm super excited and kind of nervous all at the same time! What will I look like?! Well, I might not cut it as Beyonce but I'm going to go ALL OUT and have fun!! To help you celebrate the spookiest day of the year in style, I've put together 2 of my fave Halloween picks (I'm feeling nice so you'll notice they're more of a treat than tricks!)... Enjoy Darlings...!
Exclusive to Selfridges this Halloween, Philosophy's 'Trick or Treat' Bath & Body set is no tricks, just treats! The Trick or Treat Gift Set features spirited scrummy-yummy Crispy Marshmallow Bars and Caramel Apple Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath that fill your bath or shower with irresistibly sweet scents and provide a rich foaming lather to gently cleanse, condition and moisturize skin and hair. You'll be ready for plenty of mischief and mayhem!! Philosophy Trick or Treat Gift Set, £18.00.

Oh I do love the Biscuiteers... their Biscuits are utterly divine and they are the only biscuits that look too good to eat...! If you want a more original and special treat for your Halloween Party this year, or you just want to treat everyone to something extra special and tasty, then look no further than the Biscuiteers' limited edition, terrifyingly delicious tin of Halloween Biscuits! Their scarily special 'Trick or Treat' tin is full of freakishly good biscuits including spooky ghosts, mysterious black cats, cackling witches, flying broomsticks and a great grinning pumpkin, all iced on delicious Chocolate Bake! If you're looking for more of a memorable gift, then go for the Biscuit Card - it's a totally new and cool concept... a card that's also a biscuit! The Wicked Witch Biscuit Card is my fave - it's super tasty (trust me I've tried this one) and the detailing is really impressive, not to mention the super cute box you'll recieve it in! Biscuiteers Trick or Treat Biscuit Tin £38.50, Wicked Witch Biscuit Card (above & below) £8.00.

Mise en Dior ... follow the Dior Pearl on it's pin-ball journey...

To the rhythm of an original (and pretty awesome) electro-remix of Mozart, we follow each twist and turn of the Dior Pearl right to the finish... the Mise en Dior Necklace! Wouldn't we all love to have a pin-ball machine that creates such a masterpiece?! Exhilarated by its adventure in this fascinating Dior universe, the Pearl dialogues spontaneously with each of the Luxury fashion house's icon : The Bar jacket, Lady Dior, J'Adore, the Star, Dior Addict... Chain reactions, heady excitement, futuristic neon and pure poetry in an ode to tradition... That is how the necklace is made...

Vogue & Harper's Bazaar make it a Sexy & Glamorous November!

We've certainly been treated this month! Just take a look at the three covers below that Vogue and Harper's Bazaar have pulled out of the fashion bag for November...
Officially my girl/celebrity crush. Vogue Germany treat us to two super sexy covers fronted by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looking bombshell ready with glossed bouncy hair, smouldering eyes and plenty of sparkling Diamonds! Photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, this cover could knock 007 off his feet... ermmm ***lightbulb*** perhaps our British Beauty should be in the next Bond...?!
 VOGUE GERMANY NOVEMBER 2011
Vogue Paris show us how the classic yet glamorous Red lips are done with a cheeky Parisiene twist in the form of a Bow-tie! Arizona Muse is photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the November 2011 Issue of Vogue Paris!
A glowing Beyonce throws some moves for the November Issue of Harper's Bazaar US - showing no signs of slowing down whilst she's expecting her first child! Terry Richardson captures energetic moves whilst Bey does her thing in Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012... I'm loving the Metallic Fringe Jacket!

Vera Wang Showcases Black Wedding Dresses at Bridal Fashion Week

Eeek! It seems White Wedding Dresses have been kicked aside by Designers and Black is the new White in the Bridal scene! Last week saw Vera Wang present her new 'Black' Bridal Collection at Bridal Fashion Week, with not a White Dress in sight! Instead we saw an array of Black Wedding Gowns with Nude/Grey Tulle trimmings and underskirts ...well, we are approaching Halloween folks so maybe Vera is a little consumed by all the scarily fun festivities! I must say, although I'm not taken to the idea of wearing Black down the aisle, it's a bloody fabulous idea for a dress change for the latter part of the evening don't you think...?! I think it could actually really hit off quite well... and my favourite design is this divine fishtail Gown pictured above. Wouldn't it look fab for a Wedding Reception...?

J-Lo visits her hometown, the Bronx... in her Fiat 500

You may remember recently I featured the Fiat by Gucci 500 - I mentioned how I'd come to like the car and wouldn't mind actually driving one around town. Not just because it was a Fiat by Gucci 500 mind... I would love to own a Fiat 500 (sans Gucci detailing and finesse!) as I think it's a pretty cool car, and the latest Fiat advertisement in the US makes me want one even more! It's a pleasant journey featuring Jennifer Lopez making her way back to the Bronx - her hometown. The brand say 'My World tells the story of how the simple elements of our upbringing help define who we are and where we're going. They serve as a source of inspiration to achieve our goals in life. That drive and determination is the common thread that is shared with the FIAT brand. - Life is Best When Driven.' A pretty nice way to look at it don't you think?

Recreate Gucci AW'11 High-Octane Seventies Glamour!

One of my favourite collections for Autumn Winter '11 was the Gucci high-octane Seventies Collection! Full of glamour, lashed with exotic skins and the vibrancy of jewel colours...! Now that doesn't sound like something we can get away with everyday does it?! But fashion is about pushing the boundries, stepping outside of your comfort zone and having fun! If you really feel that you want rock this trend, without looking overdone, then you can always inject a dose of Seventies glamour into your everyday style with one or two pieces. I personally dress everyday according to my mood, which is a lot of fun because sometimes it feels like you're getting 'into character' which in turn can actually be a massive positive for your confidence! There can be days when I'll want to go all-out with a particular trend; others when I fuse a number of trends together, and then theres days when I want to dress minimal, but I'll pick on the beauty look from a collection and have fun with that instead...
I've come across a lot of women lately who would look amazing if they were to wear the Seventies trend in the style of Gucci, but they just aren't sure where to start. So, I've picked out key pieces from the high-street and one or two high-end pieces too that should help you step out of your routine and try this trend. Trust me, you'll feel so glamorous you won't know whats hit you (and you'll recieve a lot of admiring glances from passers-by)!!

THE DRESS...
 GUCCI AW'11
Mango have done a superb Autumn Winter'11 Collection this season - with two killer Chiffon Gowns that can give you a similar glamorous look to the Gucci Gowns as above. Don't think that wearing a colourful floor-length dress is too much of a statement either... it's all about injecting this trend into YOUR style and wearing it YOUR way! Either gown by Mango looks amazing in the daytime (yes, daytime) layered over a fine plain Black roll-neck (or coloured if you dare!) and finished with a Black Leather Biker Jacket! Wear the look with Ankle-Boots and you will honestly feel like a million dollars!

THE FUR STOLE...
GUCCI AW'11
Topshop's Teal Fur Stole nails the trend in one! It's an easy addition to your wardrobe and works wonders when stylishly thrown over a Winter Coat (extra marks if your coat is in another Jewel tone such as Azure Blue, Purple, or even Mocha Brown!) or gracefully worn over a Pussybow Shirt/Dress. I personally think this Fur Stole looks fab when worn with a Chiffon Dress and a colourful Fedora paired with Dark lips as shown on the Gucci image above.. Yes, it's daring, but it looks fabulous! It's also an easy way to update an old coat as you can place it as a Fur Collar for Glam-factor and extra warmth!

THE SKIRT...
GUCCI AW'11
Okay, so this isn't the most glamorous piece - but it's going to work as one of the basics in this trend and one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. The Red Midi will be that key piece that will take you through Winter and still allow you to have fun with how you wear it. It's all down to the shoes... to work the Seventies look you'll want to pair this with some Knee-length Brown Leather Boots. Once you've put this together, you literally will only need either a Chiffon/Silk Shirt or a Coloured fine Roll-neck and you're done! Have more fun by wearing Knee-length Boots in a muted Teal or Plum shade, it will make it so much more interesting and give the look some depth. I always think it's important to play with textures and different shades - or another way to wear the look but add a real twist is to wear it with Shoe-Boots and team with a fur gilet!

THE PUSSY-BOW SHIRT...
GUCCI AW'11
This is probably the easiest piece to wear - just because it's been around for so long that most of us are comfortable wearing the pussy-bow shirt, whether it be for work with a pencil skirt, with jeans for a casual but polished look, or with a blazer for a smart finish. To inject some Seventies finesse into your look, wear this under either a coloured blazer in an Emerald Green, or under a Fur Gilet with Grey/Black/Blue tones. You'll also be working the Forties trend if you pair it with a pencil skirt (a Leather Pencil Skirt is a fabulous modern update) or go full on Seventies and wear this Warehouse Pussy-bow Blouse under a Violet fine-knit Cardi, and a Brick Red/Burgundy Midi Skirt!

THE COAT...
The investment piece. It will last you for years to come and is a nice step away from the classic Black coat. What makes it work is that allbeit vibrant in colour, the shape and cut are still classic and easy to wear. You'll be working plenty of other trends with this coat too : Minimalism for shape, and Colour-blocking when worn with another pop of Fuchsia, Plum or any shade really! It will also work a treat under that Fur Stole we were talking about...

THE NECKLACE...
Keeping all other Jewellery to a minimum, this Necklace will do the talking for you. It looks brilliant over a Silk Blouse/Dress or peeking through your Coat/Fur Stole! Love it!

THE BAG...
New season colour, roomy yet refined, and textured! This bag is everything you need rolled into one! And it's not so vibrant that you'll get fed up of it... instead, you'll find you won't be able to take your eyes off it! Nor will anyone else!

THE KNIT...
This is one of my favourite pieces in this edit! The Acne Silk Knit has a slit down the back that reveals a flash of sexy back - exactly what the Gucci Woman is... sexy and sophisticated and all about colour! It's a great piece to throw on with jeans or cigarette pants and the Yellow has a Mustard undertone that is screaming Super-Seventies!

THE HAT...
GUCCI AW'11
The best way to finish this trend is to nail the look with a Vibrant Fedora! Now theres sooo many versions across the high-street - you can get a whole range of coloured hats and fedoras with different trimmings in Topshop Oxford Circus, but for the ultimate high-octane finesse, Gucci is the go-to in luxury accessories!

THE MAKE-UP...
 GUCCI AW'11
You can rock the Seventies trend with ease and plenty of glamour with MAC's new Posh Paradise Collection - a collection of stunning Plum Purples, Mustards and Rich Reds... My favourite products from the collection are the Paint Pots and the Nail Lacquer. Wear the Paint Pot in Half Wild as a wash over eyelids blended with a Charcoal Shadow for a light smoky look - this looks stunning when paired with the Potent Fig Mattene Lipstick and a dash of clear gloss ! A lighter way to tap into the trend is just to have fun with Nail Colours... the Nail Lacquer in Immortal Gold is super luxe and adds a touch of Metallic glamour to the nails!
Let me know how you get on with this trend and what you do to make it your own...! xx

Assouline Create Illustrated Retrospectives of Two Iconic Luxury Fashion Houses : Chanel & Azzaro

 Assouline Publishing : Liberty London

I've always been an avid lover of books, I love reading and find it theraputic - even when flicking through a glossy high-fashion magazine! It's no surprise then, that I find myself enthralled by Assouline's vast selection of Luxury books on Fashion, Art, Design, Travel, Culture and Architecture. My current love is the Chanel Slipcase : A newly updated book trilogy, that unfolds the history, spirit, and brand of the house of Chanel - from the modernity of Coco Chanel to the present innovations of Karl Lagerfeld. The slipcase set includes three memoirs celebrating her revolutionary style: Chanel Fashion, Chanel Jewelry, and Chanel Perfume.

As one of my all-time favourite Luxury Fashion Houses and Designers, Gabrielle Chanel has always been a true inspiration to me, and influenced a lot of my likes in Fashion and Beauty. She had the ability not only to predict the evolution of contemporary fashion, but also to see its future. Chanel was a true adventurer, always on the go but also sure of her tastes which transformed twentieth-century fashion. If like me, you are a follower of Chanel, I can assure you - you will truly appreciate this trilogy...
Chanel Fashion has been compiled and written by Natasha Fraser-Cavassoni, who has not only worked on numerous articles on Fashion that have appeared in Vogue, ELLE Decor and Glamour, but is also the author of Sam Spiegel. Chanel Jewelry is by Vincent Meylan, author of Queen's Jewels, also published by Assouline, whilst Chanel Perfume is bY Martine Marcowith - a Fashion writer and Beauty Editor of Marie Claire France.
 Chanel Fashion
 Chanel Jewelry
Chanel Perfume

If you really want to take a look at this stunning quilted Slipcase, you can so at all Assouline Boutiques Worldwide - for London this would be in Liberty London (once you've entered this treasure chest, you won't want to come out!) and through www.assouline.com, where it can also be purchased.
Another Book I have my eye on - again, published by Assouline, is Loris Azzaro, an illustrated retrospective of the iconic luxury brand. Loris Azzaro arrived in Paris and opened his first shop in the 1960s and was best known for designing non-couture pieces for stars such as Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren...
The French Designer created flowing, sexy and glamorous customized gowns for evening parties and was often found hobnobbing among the “happy few” of the planet, from the yacht bridge to the poolside of the jet-set! Seduction and glamour are an inherent part of the Azzaro image, resulting from a relationship to the body founded on freedom - the freedom of mind and body that marked the 1970s, a transgressive decade with no restrictions, where avant-garde fashion and photography celebrated bareness.
The book presents the fashion house at it's best - the quintessential sun-infused brand of the Mediterranean with fluid fabrics, vibrant and frank colours such as Mediterranean Blue, Emerald Green, Pure White, presented across glossy pages : The timeless characteristics of Azzaro Couture. Loris Azzaro is also available to purchase through Assouline - both in-boutique and online.

Who spotted Hamish Bowles auditioning for the US X-Factor...?

Well, I guess no-one can ever accuse Anna Wintour for not having a sense of humour! The Editor-at-large of American Vogue signed up Hamish Bowles (European Editor-at-large) to audition for the US version of X-Factor! And of course, he did, with style too... Not letting on that he was the European Editor-at-large, he auditioned as 'Leo' a hair stylist, and sang Britney's 'Ooops I did it again' before being politely told he wasn't what the judges were looking for! Aaah who said Fashion isn't fun and jokes...?!
"I had to read the e-mail from the editor in chief several times to be quite sure, there, buried like a time bomb in a bouquet, was this chilling sentence: 'I have signed you up to compete in The X Factor.'" writes Hamish in this month's magazine. Oh and it wasn't just plain-jane Leo... no no... it was Leo, in a Thierry Mugler suit, Philip Treacy Tophat and Gold studded and crystal Christian Louboutin Shoes! Oh, and did I mention the sparkly eye make-up  that looks almost Catwoman like?!

FASH-NEWS: Hermès launch a range of Sarees in India !!!

Eeeek!!! I'm not quite sure if I can put into words just how excited I am for this piece of news! Luxury Fashion Hermes have created a range of high-end Saris... I wonder if their stunning India campaign and Laxshmi Menon have anything to do with it? A source of inspiration perhaps...?
Word has it, that Hermès will be launching stand-alone stores in India, focusing on the ever-popular Silk Sari (I'm thinking these will be similar to Satya Paul Sarees... only with glamour and luxe flying off the rictor scale at 10.0!). Patrick Thomas, the brand's Chief Executive Officer says ‘This is the perfect way for Hermès to make its presence in India . . . It is symbolic of the relationship of the brand to India, to be Indian in India and to share some activities with our customers’. On the other hand, the Regional Managing Director for India, Bertrand Michaud says ‘It is the first time printing has been done over fabric measuring 5.5 meters [18 feet] long by our ateliers of Lyon. The sari is a very sensual object, particularly in twill silk or mousseline changeante, when it reflects the light. It is very feminine and elegant’. So we'll be expecting the signature Scarf patterns that Hermès are so well known for, creating a whole new product range of 27 Special edition Sarees, using the finest Silks, yet without altering the brand's DNA too much. Think High-end Luxe Sarees with Parisien Flair! EXCITED..? ME...? Only A LOT!
